Kumasi: MTN Ghana is actively working to align itself with current technological trends to maintain its leadership in Ghana's digital transformation landscape. The company is dedicated to building digital platforms aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and providing digital business solutions to accelerate the country's development.According to Ghana News Agency, Ms. Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer of MTN, emphasized the company's commitment to Africa's development, particularly in Ghana, through digital solutions. At a stakeholders and media engagement event in Kumasi, Ms. Wiafe highlighted MTN's focus on connectivity among businesses, individuals, communities, and societies to facilitate access to digital and technological solutions, thereby improving livelihoods.Ms. Wiafe noted that sustainability is a critical component of MTN's 2025 vision, with plans to offer digital solutions that support business continuity and technological advancement in Ghana. The M TN Foundation is also launching an AI digital skills academy nationwide to equip youth with essential digital tools and competencies, preparing them for the technological world.The company is set to award scholarships to 300 tertiary students this year as part of the Bright Scholarship project. Additionally, 200 teachers will receive training to enhance educational outcomes in schools. In collaboration with the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ghana, MTN is piloting the Smart Farm Concept to leverage ICT in boosting agricultural production, with the goal of attracting unemployed youth to agriculture as a viable employment option.Mr. Dickson A. Yam, Technical Manager of Network Systems at MTN, stated that efforts are underway to improve network connectivity across Ghana. The company is constructing 14 new sites in the Ashanti region to expand coverage and enhance the capacity of existing sites. MTN is also expanding its fibre infrastructure in the region, having invested approximately $245 milli on in network expansion and improvements this year.Nii Adotey Mingle, General Manager of the Northern Sector of MTN, remarked that the company's initiatives are impacting all aspects of the socio-economic lives of Ghanaians.
