Mr Seth Osei Acheampong Urges Support for Peace Education to Safeguard Students in Conflict Zones

Accra: Mr Seth Osei Acheampong, President of World Peace Volunteers, has called for increased support for peace education programs aimed at protecting students and teachers in conflict zones. He emphasized the need for these initiatives to ensure that all children, especially girls and boys, have access to quality education that includes lessons on conflict prevention and resolution.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Acheampong made this appeal in a statement marking this year's International Day of Peace, observed on September 21. The day provides a global platform to reflect on and devise meaningful solutions to break the cycle of violence and conflict that continues to affect societies worldwide."For peace to be effective, we must take time to develop and test peacebuilding mechanisms that ensure a sustainable future. Peace sustainability is not a mirage; it is a reality we can build through comprehensive strategies that can be implemented globally," Mr Acheampong stated. He also urged Ghanaians to dee ply consider the consequences of violence and recommit to peacebuilding within their communities.Mr Acheampong highlighted the importance of peace as a fundamental necessity of life, stating, "Peace is life itself, because life without peace is hardly worth living." He called on everyone to teach children the values of tolerance and mutual respect and to fight for peace with determination.He further remarked, "Let us never forget that peace does not occur by chance; it is the result of conscious and consistent efforts by people of goodwill, acting together for the common good. Peace that is secured through hard work, dedication, and commitment is peace that is lasting and desperately needed in today's world."
