Accra: More than 200 pastors from across the country attended the National Thanksgiving Service organized by the Government on Sunday to express gratitude for a peaceful 2024 general election. The event took place at the University for Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), and was organized in collaboration with the leadership of the Christian community to also pray for the nation's leadership.
According to Ghana News Agency, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder and Overseer of Christain Action Faith Ministries Worldwide, led the clergy in prayers for President John Dramani Mahama, his wife Lordina, Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and the entire Government leadership. The Reverend Dr. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, and other prominent religious leaders such as Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah, Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel, and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, Founder of Perez Chapel International, were among the attendees.
The gathering also included notable religious figures such as Apostle Dr. Isaac Owusu-Bempah of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, Founder of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, and Bishop Salifu Amoako, General Overseer of Alive Chapel International. Other attendees were Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, Presiding Bishop of Pleasant Place Church, and several prophets and reverends from various ministries.
The event saw the presence of leading figures from the ruling National Democratic Congress, including National Chairman Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and General Secretary Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, further emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
