Accra: The Minority Caucus in Parliament has issued a warning, threatening to withdraw its co-operation within the legislative body unless sufficient security measures are enacted to facilitate the re-collation of the Ablekuma North parliamentary election results. This announcement was made amid rising tensions concerning the election outcomes in the region.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Jerry Ahmed Shiab, the Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, addressed a press conference at Parliament House on Monday, representing the Caucus. He called upon President John Mahama to intervene by instructing NDC supporters to maintain order. This measure is deemed necessary to allow the Electoral Commission to proceed with collating results from the remaining polling stations that have yet to be accounted for.The Minority Caucus's stance underscores a broader concern regarding the electoral process and its transparency. The demand for enhanced security and proper management of electoral data reflects the urgency wi th which the Caucus perceives the situation. The potential withdrawal of co-operation in Parliament could have significant implications for legislative processes, adding pressure on the authorities to address the issue promptly.
