Accra: Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has committed to reviving Ghana's declining economic prospects. He made this pledge during the party's final rally held at Zurak Park, Madina in Accra, which was attended by thousands of enthusiastic party supporters adorned in party paraphernalia.According to Ghana News Agency, Mahama emphasized the significance of the upcoming December 7 election, describing it as a pivotal moment for the nation. He framed the election as a choice between the current state of Ghana and the vision of a prosperous, just, and opportunity-filled Ghana that he aims to build. Addressing the rally attendees, he asserted, "Saturday's election is not just another election. It is a defining moment for our nation. It is a choice between the Ghana we have and the Ghana we want-a Ghana of opportunity, prosperity, and justice for all."Mahama articulated his vision for the country, promising to create opportunities across all sectors of society. He vowed to foster an environment where young voices are heard, ensure that the working class has access to sustainable and well-paying jobs, and support entrepreneurs in a free and fair market. He also highlighted his commitment to women's and girls' issues, advocating for true equality, safety, and the opportunity for them to reach their full potential.Additionally, Mahama pledged to implement significant reforms, including establishing a lean government with no more than 60 ministers and deputy ministers. On the issue of corruption, he promised to introduce "Operation Return All Loot (ORAL)," an initiative aimed at recovering stolen funds for national development. "We will wage a relentless war on corruption with dedicated zeal, retrieving stolen loot for the country's development and the benefit of our youth," he declared. He also assured Ghanaians of economic strategies to address inflation, stabilize food prices, and develop a 24-hour economy capable of creating millions of jobs. "Every G hanaian deserves leadership that puts the people first, fights corruption, and builds a nation we can all be proud of," Mahama concluded.
