Mahama Calls for National Reset to Tackle Economic Challenges in Ghana.

Effia: Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Ghanaians to unite in addressing the nation's economic challenges and to 'reset' Ghana for the betterment of its citizens. He attributed the country's current economic difficulties to the mismanagement by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration and emphasized the need for a fresh start with a new vision to restore hope to the people.According to Ghana News Agency, Mahama made these remarks during a meeting with the clergy in Effia, within the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality, as part of his three-day campaign tour of the Western Region. He highlighted that Ghana is at a critical juncture, and the upcoming elections on December 7 present an opportunity for the nation to choose a leader who can guide the country forward. Mahama argued that the NDC's return to power would be crucial in resetting the country to its former state. The Former President pointed out that, despite some challenges during his tenure, his administration had performed better across all sectors of the economy compared to the current NPP government. He cited Ghana's debt to GDP ratio of 57 percent and a deficit of 6.1 percent in 2016, noting that his government managed to finance its programmes and policies without resorting to borrowing from the Central Bank.Mahama expressed concern over what he described as the criminal supervision and destruction of the economy under the current administration. He stressed the importance of rescuing and resetting the country to its past glory, emphasizing that the December 7 election is an opportunity to initiate this change.Bishop Emmanuel Botwey, General Overseer of the Christian Faith Church International, encouraged Mahama to remain committed to his vision and to fulfill his promises of bringing socio-economic prosperity to Ghanaians. Prayers were offered for the NDC Flagbearer and his team, seeking divine success in their campaign efforts.
