The Convention People Party (CPP) has called on the electorates to change their voting pattern and cast their ballots in favour of the CPP when they go to polls on the December 7 General Election.Mr Ali Dayinday, the Bono Regional Chairman of the CPP noted that the party had not been in government since 1966, and advised Ghanaians to 'try and see what a CPP government can do differently in government'.In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on the preparations of the party towards the Election 2024, the Regional Chairman said it was only a CPP government that could build a better Ghana and better the lives of the populace.'We have changed our campaign strategy and undertaken house-to-house campaigns to enlighten the electorate about the CPP, what we can do and what we have done before,' he stated. He observed that successive governments of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) failed the nation in the national re-construction processes, saying the nation's economic situation would worsen if the electorate repeated the mistakes of voting for two parties in the elections.Mr Dayinday said a CPP government prioritised security and health, local development, job creation and general welfare of the people, saying 'democracy remains a life-long process, and we ought to re-orient the attitudes of Ghanaians in the processes'.'We don't need new policies and programmes now, rather we need a good government that is sensitive to the plight of the masses,' he stated.Touching on the parliamentary elections, Mr Dayinday said the party had only two parliamentary candidates for the Sunyani East and Dormaa Central constituencies, saying it was poised to win the seats in the Election 2024.He said the party had intensified the house-house campaign in the region, connecting to and reaching out to the electorate in all the 12 constituencies in the region, and propagating the ideologies and philosophies of the CPP.That would enable the electorate to understand the C PP better, and thereby vote for the party when they go to polls, saying 'we are also working hard in the electioneering for Ghanaians to understand the basis of life and a free society'.Mr Dayinday noted that the partisanship of the NPP and NDC remained the bane of the accelerated national development, and therefore called on the electorate to ignore the 'juicy campaign promises being touted by the NPP and the NDC.'CPP is the alternative now,' he stated and called on the electorate to make informed decisions and vote for the CPP.Source: Ghana News Agency
