LekMA and Blessed Care Foundation Join Forces for Teshie Beach Clean-Up

Teshie: The Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly (LekMA), in partnership with the Blessed Care Foundation, has conducted a clean-up exercise at the Teshie landing beach. The event attracted community members, traditional leaders, and volunteers to focus on promoting environmental cleanliness and raising awareness about sanitation along the coastal area.

According to Ghana News Agency, the clean-up exercise was part of broader efforts by the Assembly to support the national agenda for environmental sustainability. Mr. Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, Ledzokuku Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in protecting the environment. He expressed the Assembly's commitment to collaborating with partners to achieve this goal.

Mr. Otchwenmah emphasized the alignment of the initiative with President John Dramani Mahama's Reset Agenda, aiming to restore Ledzokuku's reputation. He praised the Blessed Care Foundation and its leadership for their consistent support toward environmental causes.

Mr. Issac Bortey, Director of the Blessed Care Foundation, reiterated the organization's mission to aid vulnerable groups and provide vocational training. He stressed the importance of environmental protection, noting that sanitation is crucial for health and livelihoods, particularly in coastal communities.

The clean-up exercise involved participants from various sectors, including youth groups, fisherfolk, assembly staff, and local opinion leaders. They engaged in activities such as desilting drains, picking up plastics and other waste materials from the beach, and conducting community education on sanitation and hygiene.
