Ketu north: The Ketu North Municipal Chief Executive, Reverend Martin Amenaki, and the Member of Parliament, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, have jointly announced a special celebration in honour of teachers across the constituency.
According to Ghana News Agency, the event is scheduled for Monday, October 6, at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Dzodze, and will bring together teachers, education stakeholders, and community leaders to recognise the invaluable role teachers play in shaping society and building the future.
The gathering will feature the formal launch of the 'MP's Special Education Awards,' a new and competitive annual awards scheme designed to celebrate outstanding teachers whose dedication, innovation, and sacrifices have made impacts in classrooms and communities within Ketu North.
The organisers have stated that the awards will serve as a platform to motivate, reward excellence, and uplift the teaching profession in the constituency, aligning with the global observance of World Teachers' Day, which falls on Sunday, October 5.
As part of the celebration, teachers will benefit from free registration and renewal of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards, ensuring improved access to healthcare. Other packages, including tokens of appreciation and refreshments, will be provided as gestures of gratitude for their service.
The MCE and MP emphasised that teachers are the backbone of national development, describing them as 'true change makers who deserve their rewards on earth.' They encouraged all teachers to participate in the programme and urged the wider community to continue showing appreciation and respect for educators.
The event is expected to become a flagship celebration of World Teachers' Day in Ketu North, promoting the dignity of the teaching profession and reaffirming the constituency's commitment to prioritising education.
