Kadjebi NCCE and Students Explore Mountain Gemi and Amedzofe Canopy Walk

Kadjebi: Staff of the Kadjebi District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), along with student members of the Civic Education Club (CEC), embarked on an educational tour to Mountain Gemi, Amedzofe Canopy Walk, and Ote Falls.

According to Ghana News Agency, the group included 34 students from Okanta D/A Junior High School, Anthony Educational Complex JHS, and Kadjebi R. C. JHS. The CEC is a voluntary study group focused on the 1992 Constitution and is a key program of the NCCE.

Ms. Janet Yaa Obido, an Assistant Civic Education Officer with the NCCE, explained in an interview that the excursion was part of the CEC's activities. She highlighted that the club was established in 1996 as a strategy to engage people, particularly the youth, in understanding the principles of the 1992 Constitution, which is the country's fundamental law.

Ms. Obido emphasized the importance of the students visiting the sites to experience them firsthand, as many had only read about these places. She encouraged the students to treat the visit as an educational opportunity and to share their insights with peers, family, and the wider community, emphasizing that civic education is a shared responsibility.
