Kadjebi Agenda 111 Hospital Project Nears Completion with 75% Progress

Kadjebi: The 100-bed capacity Agenda 111 Hospital project in Kadjebi, located in the Oti Region, has reached 75 per cent completion, sparking optimism among local residents for enhanced healthcare services in the district. Mr. Frank Sakyi Amoyaw, the Project Quantity Surveyor, shared this development with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during their visit to the construction site.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Amoyaw highlighted that despite the change in government following the 2024 elections, the contractors have stayed committed to the project, ensuring that it remains on track for timely completion. "Our focus is to see this project through to the end, and we are committed to delivering it for the people of Kadjebi and beyond," he stated. He also mentioned that the project has received commendation from the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) and the Ministry of Finance for its progress.

The hospital is poised to become a significant health asset for the Oti Region, featuring modern wards, surgical theatres, maternity and pediatric units, laboratories, and residential facilities for staff. Mr. Amoyaw emphasized the need for timely financial support to meet the project's completion schedule and fulfill its mission of saving lives.

Residents of Kadjebi and nearby areas are eagerly anticipating the hospital's completion, which promises to alleviate the burden on existing health centers and reduce the need for long-distance travel for essential medical services. Currently, many patients are referred to hospitals in Jasikan, Hohoe, or Ho, which incurs additional costs and inconvenience.

Ms. Justine Korkor Amegatse, a trader in Kadjebi, expressed her relief and anticipation for the facility, noting its significance for mothers and children who face challenges accessing prompt healthcare. "We cannot wait for it to be finished. Many lives will be saved here," she remarked.

The Agenda 111 initiative, spearheaded by the Government of Ghana, seeks to construct 111 modern hospitals nationwide to enhance access to quality healthcare. The Kadjebi hospital, launched in March 2022 by Core Construction Ltd, is strategically positioned to serve not only the district but also neighboring communities, including Jasikan, Biakoye, Guan, and parts of Togo.

Despite the progress, stakeholders stress the importance of consistent funding and oversight to prevent any delays in the project. For the residents of Kadjebi, the hospital's 75 per cent completion is a beacon of hope, signifying that quality healthcare is on the horizon.
