Tunis: The eruption of Italy's Mount Etna is not expected to adversely affect Tunisian territory or neighbouring regions, the National Institute of Meteorology (INM) asserted on Tuesday.The volcano, located in Sicily, Italy, approximately 400 km north of Tunisia, has been erupting for several days.According to satellite imagery analysed by the Institute, the sulphur dioxide released by the volcano "remains high above the Earth's surface and poses no impact on Tunisia," clarified the INM.Data collected from three air quality monitoring stations operated by the Institute also indicate that sulphur dioxide levels at ground level have remained "consistently low to negligible" during the period from July 3 to July 7, 2024, according to the same source.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
