Jendouba: President of the Republic Kais Saied on Monday afternoon made a visit to the Jendouba governorate, where he familiarised with the situation of the region's water resources.During a meeting with officials and a number of citizens at the 'Bouhertma' and 'Barbara' dams, listening to their concerns about the disruption of water supply in the region, the Head of State affirmed that 'it is absued that citizens complain of thirst when they are surrounded by dams,' accusing 'parties of being behind this, especially at this particular time.'Saied considered the lack of water 'meaningless in light of the existence of water dams that store good quantities of fresh water,' pledging to intervene to address the issue and speed up repairs to years of damage to the Barbara dam and reconnect it to the region's water systems.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
