Accra: Mr. Manish Gupta, the India High Commissioner to Ghana, has met with Media Managers and Journalists to bolster bilateral relations between the commission and its media partners in Ghana. The event, held at the High Commissioner's residence in Accra, brought together journalists and managers from both state-owned and private media organizations.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gupta highlighted the strengthening ties between India and Ghana during his welcome address, outlining plans to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, health, security, defense, and information technology. He emphasized the historic and privileged relationship between the two nations, citing the visit of India's Prime Minister to Ghana and the media's role in documenting such significant milestones.Mr. Gupta also shared that India had increased its sponsorship programs for Ghanaian public officials, students, and business leaders, encouraging participants to take advantage of these fully funded schemes. He r emarked, "We are two democracies, who are talking to each other and we want to take this relationship to greater heights."Further stressing the role of the media, Mr. Gupta stated, "Our job is to build bridges between peoples, bridges between communities, bridges between countries." The meeting underscores the importance of media in deepening partnerships between India and Ghana.
