Tunis: Tunisian pilgrims left Tunis-Carthage airport, on Wednesday, to the holy places, to perform the rites of Hajj 1045-2024.Forty-two return flights are scheduled this year from 8 Tunisian airports.Religious Affairs Minister, Brahim Chaïbi, Saudi Ambassador to Tunis, Abdelaziz Ben Ali al Saqr and officials greeted the pilgrims from the governorates of Tunis, Ariana, Nabeul, Ben Arous and Médenine before departure.The last flight of Tunisian pilgrims to the holy places is scheduled for June 11, 2024 from Tunis-Carthage airport. The first return of Tunisian travelers from Jeddah is scheduled for June 21, while the last flight is scheduled for July 9, 2024.Speaking to journalists, Chaibi indicated that Tunisair will operate 22 flights while the other 20 flights will be operated by the Saudi airlines.Some 10,982 Tunisian pilgrims are expected to perform the Hajj rites, including a thousand pilgrims from abroad.The average age of pilgrims this year is 56 years old. The oldest is 104 years old from R emada (Tataouine) and the youngest of the pilgrims, from Sfax is 25 years old.Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
