ACCRA: Hundreds of revelers gathered at the Gold Coast Restaurant in Accra for a festive fufu party that became the talk of the town, leaving an unforgettable mark on the merrymakers.

According to Ghana News Agency, the fufu jamboree allowed attendees to enjoy bowls of fufu accompanied by light goat and groundnut soups, complemented by glasses of beer and live music. The event was organized by Maggi, a leading food seasoning brand of Nestle Ghana Limited, in collaboration with Gold Coast Restaurant, as part of the Christmas celebrations.

Madam Deborah Kwablah, Corporate Communications Manager at Nestle Ghana Limited, stated that fufu is a cherished meal across Ghana, making it an ideal way to usher the public into end-of-year festivities. The party aims to promote food tourism, aligning with the 'Eat Ghana' agenda under the broader 'See, Eat, Wear and Feel Ghana' campaign by the Ghana Tourism Authority. Kwablah expressed anticipation for more excitement and a successful 2025 as the event marked its second installment.

Miss Magherita Amon, Category Development Executive for Maggi Ghana, highlighted that the party also served to educate consumers about the local ingredients used in Maggi products. She emphasized that events like this showcase Maggi's local quality products, including Maggi shrimp, Maggi deidei, Maggi tablets, and Maggi chicken.

Mr. Enoch Kojo Selasie Tsagoli, General Manager of Gold Coast Restaurant, noted that the restaurant hosts the fufu party quarterly, a tradition maintained over the past three years. He emphasized the importance of promoting local foods within the tourism industry, particularly during December when visitor numbers increase, with the aim of achieving international recognition for Ghanaian cuisine.
