GNPC Foundation Impacts Lives and Communities with Legacy Projects.


Accra: The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation has made remarkable impacts within communities and lives of individuals across the length and breadth of the country. The lifelong impacts include scholarship to students both in and outside the country, potable water sources, school buildings, dormitories, sanitation facilities, among others.

According to Ghana News Agency, Awulae Agama-Tu Gyan, Chief of Gwira Banso, who chaired the outdooring of projects executed since 2017 by the Foundation, praised them for their mission to affect and impact lives. He tasked Nananom to take responsibility for the projects and ensure that they served their intended purpose while encouraging the Foundation to complete some ongoing projects.

Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, the Western Regional Minister, noted how the structured Corporate Social Investment programme of the Foundation had transformed lives over the period. He added that the Region had benefitted immensely from the NPP government, hence the n
eed to support their bid to continue the good works. Mr. Darko-Mensah mentioned the 12 hospital projects, 21 new ambulances, and inner-city road projects with over 2000km of roads awarded in the Region. He noted that the free Senior High had increased enrolment from 13,000 to 65,000 in the Region.

Mr. Freddie Blay, the Chairman for the GNPC Foundation, noted how the oil monies were making significant impacts in society. He expressed gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve Ghanaians in that manner, adding, “Ghana has a lot of potentials that will be unearthed in the near future…let all work hard for the country.”
