Accra: The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Ghana Cricket Association have announced that Ghana will host the ICC Level One Umpires Tutors' Course from May 27 to 29, 2025, at the University of Ghana. The course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively tutor and mentor cricket umpires in Ghana.According to Ghana News Agency, the training will bring together 13 selected individuals from member associations in the sub-region to undergo the certified program. Mr. Emmanuel Asare, President of the Ghana Cricket Association, stated that the course is part of the ICC's efforts to make cricket a global sport. He mentioned that the course would cover various aspects of umpiring, including rules, regulations, best practices, and other key areas.Mr. Asare emphasized that the three-day event is a critical component of the ICC's Education programme, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of ICC Africa member nations. He urged participants to give the course the attention it deserves in their quest to support the growth of cricket.The course will be conducted by Master Lauren Agenbag and Thomas Mokorosi, who will lead the instructional sessions.
