Accra: Some staff of Ghana Gas have praised the remarkable contributions of Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey and Dr. Robert Kofi Lartey in the establishment of the company. Between 2011 and 2017, Dr. Sipa Yankey, the then CEO, and Dr. Lartey, the Lead Engineer at the time, made history by completing the first-ever state-of-the-art gas infrastructure that has sustained power supply for industries and homes in Ghana.
According to Ghana News Agency, the appointment of Dr. Sipa Yankey as Board Chairman and the confirmation of Dr. Lartey as CEO are viewed as crucial steps that bring experience to promote Ghana Gas to the next level. Staff members who confided in the Ghana News Agency believe that the duo will oversee the successful construction of the Train Two (Second Gas Processing Plant). This development is expected to further enhance and power the government's 24-hour economy initiative.
Dr. Sipa-Adjah Yankey, recognized as the first CEO of Ghana Gas and an investment economist, is anticipated to attract significant investments to expand the gas infrastructure in the Western Enclave and across Ghana. Meanwhile, residents have expressed satisfaction with Dr. Lartey's appointment as Acting CEO and subsequent confirmation, which are expected to contribute significantly to operational stability.
Dr. Lartey is noted for possessing the necessary industry expertise and administrative skills to navigate the day-to-day operations of Ghana Gas. Since its inception, Ghana Gas has played a vital role in Ghana's energy supply, and the construction of the second train is expected to play a significant role in stabilizing power supply in the country.
