Atwima Nwabiagya: The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC), through its Local Accountability Network (LANet) in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality, has sensitised some first-time voters in the municipality as they prepare to exercise their franchise in December. Under its 'Activating Ghana's First Time Voters for Election 2024' initiative, LANet members engaged students of Nnebehini TVET and the Muslim community on electoral processes and the importance of peaceful elections.According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Christiana Osei, Secretary to the Municipal LANet, advised young voters to avoid any form of malpractice that could lead them into trouble. She emphasized the importance of resisting attempts by politicians to influence their decision with money or other incentives. Madam Osei reminded the young electorate of their civic duty to contribute to the country's stability as future leaders and urged them to abide by the rules governing the election. She also highlighted that violence poses a threat to G hana's reputation as one of the few countries in the sub-region that has maintained democracy over the past three decades. The engaged youth expressed their excitement about participating in this year's election and thanked LANet for the sensitisation efforts.
