Sefwi bekwai: Fresh students at Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School (SHS) in the Western North Region are undergoing a two-day orientation programme organized by the school's Guidance and Counselling Unit for the 2025/2026 academic year. The event is themed 'Young Leadership: Navigating Academic Excellence and Leadership' and aims to provide information to help new students adjust to campus life.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Prince Abubakar Djibo, the Headmaster of the school, addressed the students and shared a brief history and the academic achievements of the institution. He emphasized that Sefwi Bekwai SHS is known for its focus on discipline and academic excellence. Mr. Djibo urged the students to prioritize their academic pursuits and adhere to the school's rules to ensure a smooth experience on campus. "Your academics should take more of your time because it is the reason why you are on campus because in this school, quality is our watchword, dedication to work is our principle, and students' success is our mission," he stated.
Mrs. Eunice Asante-Manso, Assistant Headmistress in charge of Administration, spoke about the school's vision, mission, and core values. She highlighted that the school aims to be a catalyst for positive social and economic change. The mission is to foster skills and talents through academic excellence, discipline, and lifelong learning to prepare students to become responsible adults.
Mrs. Gertrude Tetteh, Assistant Headmistress, Domestic, encouraged students to be committed to their responsibilities and to prioritize the school's reputation. Meanwhile, Mr. Awonyi Ackah, Assistant Headmaster, Academics, advised students to take their lessons seriously, attend classes regularly, and prepare thoroughly to achieve outstanding grades in their examinations.
