Central Tongu: Mr Confidence Abotsi, the former Central Tongu constituency Chairman, has intensified his campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections on Saturday, December 7. Mr Abotsi, a two-term constituency chairman and member of the NDC's Employment and Job Creation Committee, expressed his commitment to playing integral roles in recapturing power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Abotsi engaged constituents in various communities, markets, and apprenticeship shops, outlining the NDC's 'Reset' agenda as part of his contribution to reclaim power. He emphasized the need for voters to bring back the NDC and reject the NPP, citing the ruling party's failure in every department of the Ghanaian economy.Mr Abotsi detailed the NDC's plan to establish a Women's Development Bank to provide low-cost and easy-to-access loans for women to expand their businesses in the constituency. Additionally, he highlighted the party's commitment to universal primary healthcare, pension for the informal sector, and free National Apprenticeship Programmes (NAP) for artisanal work.He assured farmers in the district of the NDC's plan to establish Farmer Service Centres, designed to offer prompt and low-cost services, inputs, and information on new farming techniques. The former Chairman also engaged students in various schools, promising a better-managed Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme, free fees in the first year of tertiary education, and enhanced student loans under the NDC.Mr Abotsi outlined the NDC's intention to bring legal reforms to implement a 24-hour economy, aiming to increase job spaces and productivity. He noted that a future NDC administration would scrap the Betting Tax within the first 120 days. Furthermore, he addressed the Fulani-dominated communities, discussing the Women's Development Bank and assuring them of a fair and non-discriminatory process.
