First Lady Advocates for Peaceful Voting in Upcoming Elections.

Accra: The First Lady of Ghana, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has called on the electorate to participate peacefully in the upcoming elections scheduled for December 7. She emphasized the importance of waiting patiently for the official announcement of results, urging citizens to steer clear of any disputes on election day.According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Akufo-Addo conveyed this message during her visit to the Trobu and Okaikwei North Constituencies in the Greater Accra Region. This visit formed part of her campaign and gratitude tour in the region. She reassured the public of a peaceful electoral process, stating that security forces would be deployed to ensure safety, thereby encouraging citizens to exercise their voting rights without fear.As she and her husband, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, prepare to leave office on January 7, Mrs. Akufo-Addo took the opportunity to advocate for votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and NPP parliamentary candidates partic ipating in the 2024 general elections. She highlighted the progress made under the NPP administration and urged voters to retain the party in power to continue these initiatives.Mrs. Akufo-Addo praised Dr. Bawumia for his expertise in digitalization and technology, asserting that his innovative ideas are crucial for addressing contemporary challenges and advancing Ghana's development. She encouraged supporters to promote Dr. Bawumia's candidacy and the NPP's parliamentary candidates, including Madam Gloria Owusu of Trobu Constituency and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei of Okaikoi North Constituency.Madam Owusu appealed to voters in Trobu to support the NPP with a decisive win, aiming to prevent any disputes over election results. She urged constituents to vote for both Dr. Bawumia and herself, mobilizing support from friends and family. Similarly, Mrs. Asiamah-Adjei assured her constituents of a secure voting environment and urged them to participate without intimidation.
