Hohoe: Mr Fiifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on party supporters in the Volta Region to actively disseminate the NDC's campaign messages of hope as the 2024 general elections approach. He emphasized that a victory in the December polls would provide an opportunity to address several issues that have occurred over the past eight years.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Kwetey, speaking at the NDC's Volta Regional Rally held in Hohoe, stressed that the party should not have lost the Hohoe Parliamentary Seat in 2020 and urged supporters to prevent a repeat of this outcome. He encouraged party members to engage in grassroots campaigning, visiting households to emphasize the importance of the upcoming election as a chance to 'reset' the country.Mr Kwetey highlighted Hohoe as a significant area of pride and power for the NDC, urging unity and commitment among party members. Despite acknowledging the party's shortcomings, he deemed it unacceptable for those who identify with the NDC to abandon it. He also warned that a victory for the New Patriotic Party in the December 7 elections could imply that citizens, despite facing hardships, might be swayed by monetary incentives during the election year.He expressed concerns over reports that individuals entering the Volta Region, particularly at entry points like Sogakope and Asikuma, were being required to show identification, a development that the party found troubling.Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Hohoe, urged voters to dismiss divisive campaign messages and instead focus on development issues. He appealed for full support for himself and Mr Mahama to bring about the necessary development for the constituency.Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, the Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC, reassured that the party remains united and focused on the forthcoming 'battle.' Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Member of Parliament for Ho West, called on voters to support Mr Tsekpo to ensure a comprehensive victory for the NDC across the Volta Region.Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, the MP for Adaklu, asserted that the NDC would not tolerate any oppression of its members during the election period. He advised against 'skirt and blouse' voting and highlighted Mr Mahama's commitment to completing significant projects like the Eastern Corridor Road and the Fodome Campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS).The rally, which included a walk, attracted hundreds of enthusiastic party supporters.
