Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu Confirmed as First Female MCE for Juaben

Juaben: Assembly Members of the Juaben Municipal Assembly have confirmed President John Mahama's nominee, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu, as the first female Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). Twenty-four out of the 25 Assembly Members voted in favor of her confirmation, marking a historic milestone for the municipality.

According to Ghana News Agency, Eunice Ohenewaa Ansu was sworn into office by Juaben Circuit Court Judge, Ms. Rosemarie Afua-Asante. Before the election, Mr. Isham Alhassan, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ashanti Regional Organizer, representing the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, encouraged the Assembly Members to confirm her in a show of unity to enhance the municipality's image.

In her acceptance speech, Ansu expressed gratitude to the President for her nomination and committed to aligning her operations with the President's vision to advance Juaben Municipality. She acknowledged the support from national, regional, and constituency executives, as well as the chiefs and Assembly Members, for their trust in her leadership.

Ansu, who previously ran as a parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the 2024 general elections, highlighted her familiarity with local issues. She outlined her commitment to addressing challenges in education, agriculture, health, and infrastructure to improve residents' lives. She pledged to maintain an open-door policy and inclusive governance to facilitate rapid development.

Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency, Mr. Francis Owusu Achiaw, expressed his willingness to work collaboratively with the new MCE to drive the area's development. He praised the Assembly Members for heeding his advice to ensure a decisive victory for Ansu.
