Aflao: Enterprise Insurance has announced its ongoing collaboration with the Mobile Money Advocacy Group (MoMAG) to enhance financial protection and business sustainability for mobile money agents nationwide. Mr. Paul Ampedu-Yeboah, Assistant General Manager for Informal and SME Business at Enterprise Insurance, shared insights into this partnership during MoMAG's Eighth Anniversary celebration in Aflao, where he also served as chairman.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Ampedu-Yeboah emphasized the crucial role mobile money agents play within their communities, acting as trusted contact points for financial transactions and other services. Recognizing their importance, Enterprise Insurance has been working with MoMAG for over two years to provide insurance coverage for these agents, focusing on business protection and cash-in-transit security.
Mr. Ampedu-Yeboah highlighted the introduction of Momo Insure, a comprehensive policy covering accidental death, permanent disability, and other risks, aimed at offering agents greater security and peace of mind amidst increasing armed robbery incidents. Moreover, the partnership is evolving to empower mobile money agents as insurance sales representatives, leveraging their community positioning and providing them with digital platforms to sell insurance.
He stressed the significance of integrity and trust in the insurance business, noting that thorough background checks are conducted before onboarding agents to ensure they represent the Enterprise brand effectively. This initiative also presents an opportunity for young graduates to establish their own businesses through agency work.
In addition, Mr. Edward Ofori Agyemang, the National President of MoMAG, outlined future plans for the association, including acquiring an operational vehicle for enhanced mobility, launching a robbery support system offering interest-free loans to affected members, introducing a microcredit program, and establishing a MoMAG-owned bank within the next decade. Mr. Agyemang expressed gratitude to Enterprise Insurance for their continued support and highlighted the strong partnership's potential to amplify impact for agents, customers, and communities alike.
