Accra: The energy sector in Ghana has been identified as a pressing concern, described as a "ticking time bomb" by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance, during the National Economic Forum. He emphasized the urgency for transparency, accountability, and good governance to address the ongoing economic challenges. Dr. Forson highlighted that the economic crisis is far from over, with its full impact gradually unfolding.

Amoako, a development economist and member of the NED Planning Committee, stressed the need for a comprehensive financing strategy to stabilize Ghana's economy. He pointed out the lack of policy consistency between the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a significant issue. Dr. Amoako called for efforts to grow the economy to be competitive on a global scale and urged citizens to take bold and active steps toward economic transformation.
Additionally, Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue Planning Committee, proposed that the National Economic Dialogue should become a permanent consultative body to facilitate ongoing discussions and strategies for economic improvement.
