Energy Minister Commends BOST Energies’ Progress and Rebranding at Annual General Meeting

Accra: The Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Limited Company (BOST) recently held its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Accra, bringing together key stakeholders including the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), and representatives from various governmental and organizational bodies.

According to Ghana News Agency, Energy Minister John Jinapor praised the board of directors, under the leadership of Professor Saint Kuttu, and management led by Managing Director Mr. Afetsi Awoonor, for their significant achievements in enhancing BOST's operational efficiency over the past seven months. He called on BOST to strategically position itself within the petroleum downstream value chain to become a major industry supplier and to accelerate innovation and investments that align with the government's green transition agenda. He highlighted the importance of integrating sustainability into BOST's core operations to lead the way in building a cleaner and more resilient energy future for Ghana.

Speaking on behalf of SIGA, Director-General Mr. Afetsi Awoonor emphasized the need for BOST to achieve profitability and declare dividends to the government by the end of the 2025 financial year. He stated that SIGA expects BOST to demonstrate measurable progress in cost optimization, revenue generation, and asset maximization. He stressed the importance of accountability to both SIGA and the Ghanaian people, underscoring that every decision should contribute to national development and value creation.

Board Chairman Professor Saint Kuttu reaffirmed BOST's commitment to its mandate of guaranteeing Ghana's strategic petroleum reserves and ensuring adequate storage and transportation infrastructure. He highlighted ongoing investments in infrastructure rehabilitation, digitalization, and governance improvements, stating that good governance remains the foundation of their performance.

The AGM adopted the audited financial statements for 2024. Additionally, shareholders approved the company's rebranding from Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Limited Company to BOST Energies, marking a new era as the company aligns with Ghana's energy transition agenda. This rebranding aligns with the Government of Ghana's National Energy Transition Framework and underscores BOST Energies' commitment to supporting national and regional sustainability goals.
