Ellembelle Constituency Gears Up for Heated 2024 Election.

Ellembelle: Voters in the Ellembelle Constituency are preparing for the upcoming 2024 general elections as political parties intensify their campaigns throughout the region. With only six days until Ghanaians head to the polls, the area is experiencing an election fervor as candidates from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Progressive People's Party (PPP) vie for parliamentary seats.According to Ghana News Agency, the contest for the parliamentary seat features the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah of the NDC, Mr. Kwasi Bonzoh, the District Chief Executive running under the NPP, and Mr. John Asmah Nkum from the PPP. Mr. Buah, who first entered Parliament in 2009, is seeking re-election while facing a determined challenge from Mr. Bonzoh, who is contesting the seat for the fourth time. Mr. Nkum, who previously ran in the 2020 elections, is also making a second attempt for the seat.In the previous election, Mr. Buah secured victory with 32,053 votes, representing 55.87% of the total, while Mr. Bonzoh received 23,669 votes, accounting for 41.60%. Mr. Nkum managed only 24 votes, a mere 0.04%. As the election approaches, Mr. Buah and Mr. Bonzoh have been actively campaigning, while Mr. Nkum remains less visible in the constituency.The NDC's Mr. Buah has been inaugurating various development projects such as schools and health facilities, and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives with training programs and start-up kits. Meanwhile, Mr. Bonzoh of the NPP has focused on educational infrastructure improvements and road projects under the District Road Improvement Project.With the election imminent, both Mr. Buah and Mr. Bonzoh have intensified their campaigns. Mr. Bonzoh has argued that the constituency needs a change after Mr. Buah's 16-year tenure. In contrast, Mr. Buah defends his track record, highlighting his contributions to Ellembelle's development and his plans for further advancements despite being in opposition.
