Tema: Some party agents of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who observed the special voting exercise at the Tema West Constituency have emphasized that election monitoring is a matter of intelligence and strategy rather than violence.According to Ghana News Agency, the party agents were seen comparing their figures of the number of voters who had cast their ballots to ensure accuracy and consistency in the data they collected. Mr. Robert Cudjoe, an agent for the NPP, highlighted the importance of focusing on their duties at polling centers rather than resorting to violence. He stated, "Election monitoring is brain work, and this can only be achieved through proper training of the party agents rather than fighting."Discussing the ongoing special voting, Mr. Cudjoe mentioned that the process was smooth and expressed hope that the same peaceful environment would prevail during the general elections. Mr. Godfred Nii Okine, the NDC agent at the center, echoed similar se ntiments, emphasizing that elections are about expressing opinions and should not create enmity among participants. He also noted that the special voting exercise had been very orderly and smooth.The special voting exercise at Tema West involves 1,048 security personnel, media practitioners, and staff of the Electoral Commission who are set to perform electoral duties. The event is being held at the Tema Community Two police station.
