Accra: Dr Akosua Abdallah, Head of the Ghana Chapter of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), has denied being part of a petition challenging the appointments of Kafui Danku and James Gardiner to the National Film Authority (NFA). This denial comes in response to an alleged petition circulated to President Mahama regarding these appointments.According to Ghana News Agency, Dr Abdallah stated in a communiqué that she had no concern or interest in the appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama. She emphasized her lack of knowledge about the petition, asserting that she was neither consulted nor involved in its initiation, drafting, or circulation.Dr Abdallah's statement highlighted her neutral and professional stance on matters related to governance and appointments within state institutions. She clarified that she is not engaged in public or civil service at this stage of her career, and any association of her name with the petition is unwarranted. The inclusion of her name, she noted, was don e without her consent and does not reflect her views.Dr Abdallah reiterated her commitment to her role as a cultural and theatre expert and as Head of the Ghana Chapter of ITI, focusing on fostering collaboration, capacity-building, and artistic excellence within the creative sector.
