According to Ghana News Agency, the family issued a statement to People magazine, expressing their gratitude for the messages of love and support received in recent days. The announcement of Keaton's death on October 11 at the age of 79 brought an outpouring of tributes from both fans and Hollywood personalities.
The family highlighted Keaton's love for animals and her commitment to supporting the unhoused community, encouraging donations in her memory to local food banks or animal shelters.
Keaton gained fame in the 1970s with her role in Woody Allen's 'Annie Hall,' which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress and established her long-standing film career. She was also widely recognized for her portrayal of Kay Adams Corleone in 'The Godfather' trilogy.
