Oti: A total of 3,240 out of the 3,600 registered voters for the special voting exercise have exercised their franchise, with a 90 per cent turnout. The figure comprises 2,291 males and 940 females.According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Nuhu Mahama, the Oti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, stated that Krachi East recorded the highest turnout of 628, while Guan returned 51. A total of 423,765 registered voters in the Oti Region are expected to vote on Saturday, as Ghana heads to the polls."The upcoming general election is crucial for the country, and the EC has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and peaceful voting process, with Saturday's polls expected to be highly contested," Mr. Mahama said. He assured the people of the Oti Region of the EC's commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity in the electoral process.Mr. Mahama encouraged voters to come out in their numbers to exercise their franchise, adding that the Commission had implemented adequate measures to ensure an incid ent-free election. Mr. Samuel Adzomani, a voter, along with other enthusiastic voters, expressed their eagerness to cast their ballots and planned to arrive at their designated polling stations as early as 0400 hours to wait for the EC officials to commence the process.
