Data Link Institute Extends Financial Support to Remar Tema Children’s Home

Tema: Data Link Institute of Business and Technology has shown solidarity with Remar Tema Children's Home in Tema Community Eleven by donating an unspecified amount of money. This contribution aims to support the orphanage's efforts in providing care for vulnerable children.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donation is part of Data Link's larger commitment to social development and child welfare in Ghana. Professor Stanley Saamoah Moffat, President of the Institute, highlighted that the donation is intended not only to assist the children but also to commend the staff and management of the orphanage for their dedication in creating a nurturing environment.

Professor Moffat reiterated the institution's commitment to giving back and stressed the moral duty of supporting children in need. He called upon more individuals and organizations to extend their support, citing the United States as an example of a society where charity is integral to nation-building.

He also referenced Ghana's first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, noting the decline in structured national efforts towards orphan welfare since the 1960s. Moffat mentioned a UNICEF report underscoring the global orphan crisis and the necessity of supporting these children to prevent societal burdens.

Mr. Philip Gebu, Chaplain of Data Link, described the donation as part of an annual Easter tradition to express gratitude for divine protection over the children and community.

Mr. Dodzi Agbo, head caretaker of Remar Tema Children's Home, expressed gratitude for the support, which arrived at a critical time for settling bills. He stated that the home currently accommodates 25 children, some of whom have successfully completed high school and are working, showcasing the positive impact of such donations. Agbo encouraged other institutions to follow suit in contributing to the children's welfare.
