Customer Care Week Celebrated at Ridge Hospital with Staff and Client Recognition

Accra: The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, has marked this year's Customer Care Week by celebrating both its clients and staff for their impactful contributions to quality healthcare delivery. The event, held at the hospital's premises, focused on the theme: 'Viewing Patients as Valued Customers and Not Just Medical Cases.'

According to Ghana News Agency, Dr. Issa Adam-Zakariah, the Acting Medical Director of Ridge Hospital, praised the staff for their unwavering commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care during the event's opening. In a statement issued in Accra, Dr. Adam-Zakariah stressed the importance of treating patients as partners in the healing process, rather than just recipients of medical treatment. "Our patients are at the heart of what we do. Delivering quality care begins with empathy, respect, and professionalism," he stated. He further added that the celebration serves as a reminder that every patient deserves to be treated with both medical expertise and dignity.

Ms. Gifty Aryee, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services, emphasized the vital role of health workers and applauded the nurses and midwives for their dedication to patient welfare and professional excellence. The celebration included activities such as customer engagement sessions, health education talks, and a staff awards ceremony to honor those who showed exceptional dedication to customer service.

Several staff members were recognized for their outstanding service. Among them, Ms. Rosenelly Parker Neizer-Gyenfie was awarded Best Customer Care Nurse for Public Health, Ms. Merrita Woamie received the award for Best Customer Service for ENT, and Ms. Patricia Oforiwaa Boamah was honored as Best Customer Care Nurse for Paediatrics. Ms. Selma Akuffo Kissiedu was recognized as the Best Customer Care Service Nurse for Surgery, and Emma Nyatsikor was awarded Best Customer Service Nurse for the Labour ward.

"It's fulfilling to know that the little acts of kindness we show our clients make a big difference. This award encourages me to keep serving with empathy and a smile," she said.

Dr. Yaa Dufoa Brako, the Head of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, congratulated the awardees and underscored the importance of maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery. She noted that "Quality healthcare is not only about treatment outcomes but also about how patients experience care. Recognizing our staff for their excellent service motivates others to uphold the same values."

The hospital's management reiterated its commitment to ongoing improvements through staff training, customer feedback mechanisms, and innovations aimed at enhancing patient satisfaction.
