GOSANET Foundation, in collaboration with the Ghana Coalition of NGOs, is actively implementing GAVI CDS Year 3 activities under the World Bank-supported Community Immunization Support Initiative (CDS 3 Project) in the Ho Municipality. This initiative is part of a larger national strategy to bolster immunization coverage and foster community involvement in primary healthcare.
Launched in 2022, the CDS 3 Project targets the low performance of COVID-19 vaccinations in selected districts, including Ho, and has expanded this year to include other essential immunizations such as hepatitis B, yellow fever, cholera, HPV, and childhood vaccinations. Through this initiative, GOSANET Foundation supports the Ghana Health Service’s efforts to reduce morbidity and mortality from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Mr. Atidzah emphasized the initiative’s focus on collaboration among health authorities, traditional leaders, and community-based organizations to ensure effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of immunization activities. This year, 10 communities have been targeted for CDS 3 intervention, reflecting a concerted effort to improve health outcomes in the Volta region. GOSANET Foundation remains committed to promoting health and development initiatives that enhance the lives of the Volta region’s residents.
