Citizens Association Cuts Sod for Construction of Clinic at Domfete

Domfete: The Domfete Citizens Association in the Berekum West Municipality of the Bono Region has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for work to begin on the construction of an ultra-modern clinic for the community in the Domfete community. The initiative is expected to address the challenging healthcare service delivery and thereby improve the health condition of the people.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Joseph Amo, a member of the Association, explained during a ceremony held at Domfete that the project was a collaborative initiative by members, both local and abroad. He expressed gratitude to the chief of the area for releasing land for the project and emphasized the importance of establishing the facility, stating that upon completion, it would deliver quality healthcare services to the rural population.

Mr. Amo further noted that the community cannot solely rely on the government for development projects, highlighting the association's role in spearheading the area's development. He pointed out the challenges faced by residents who currently have to travel from Jinijini, the Municipal capital, to access healthcare services in Berekum.

Osabarima Kusi Yeboah II, the chief of Domfete, praised the initiative and commended the association for its visionary approach to addressing some of the pressing needs of the area. He also expressed appreciation to the government for constructing a three-unit classroom block in the area. The chief acknowledged that the construction of the clinic was a significant step towards improving healthcare services in Domfete and its neighboring communities, noting that the people had lacked direct access to healthcare services for years.
