Accra: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has generously donated food items to residents of Madina in the La Nkwantanang District. This initiative was part of efforts to spread the love and peace associated with Jesus Christ.According to Ghana News Agency, President Alexander Ansong, First Councilor at Madina, Accra, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, explained that the annual donation aims to radiate the light of Christ by providing for the poor and needy in society. He emphasized that the donations were made to individuals from various religious backgrounds, including both Muslims and Christians, with the goal of fostering peace and love among all people.The donation reached over 400 individuals from different communities, and included food items such as rice, oil, mackerel, and frozen chicken. Mr. Benjamin Beenson, President of the Ghana Accra Mission, noted that the effort was meant to emulate the work of Jesus Christ, highlighting that "everyone has a need and therefore we give to those who are not able to afford."This charitable activity was not limited to Madina but was replicated across the entire Africa West Area of the Church, aiming to bring joy to the least privileged in society. The initiative is part of the ongoing Light the World campaign, which continues beyond its launch, demonstrating the Church's commitment to acts of service and kindness throughout the year.The Church has also extended an invitation to individuals, organizations, and communities to join in spreading love and making a positive impact in their respective areas. The people of Madina expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the Church's timely gesture, especially as the Christmas celebrations approached.
