Tamale: Very Reverend Father Hilary Pogbeyir, Parish Priest at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tamale, has called upon Catholics to use the resurrection of Jesus Christ as an opportunity to renew their faith and reaffirm their commitment to Christ and the Church. He emphasized the significance of the Easter Mass, highlighting its role as a central celebration of the Christian faith that commemorates Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and his triumph over sin and death.
According to Ghana News Agency, Very Reverend Father Pogbeyir delivered this message during the Easter Sunday mass service held at the church in Tamale. He explained that the Mass not only marks the culmination of the liturgical season of Lent but also signifies the hope of eternal life for all believers. It is considered a joyous occasion, serving as a time for reflection and celebration of God’s love and grace.
He further elaborated on the meaning of Jesus’ victory over sin and death, noting that it offers believers hope for life beyond the grave and a future filled with God’s love. The feast serves as a reminder that light always triumphs over darkness, and life can indeed emerge from death.
The Eucharist, celebrated during Easter Mass, allows Catholics to partake in the risen life of Christ, thereby strengthening their faith and relationship with God.
