Tamale: Sheikh Hussein Saeed Yakubu Jarjaa, the Imam of the Ambariya Muslim Mission in Tamale, has highlighted the importance of integrating the values fostered during Ramadan into the daily lives of Muslims to aid in the nation's development. Speaking at the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers, which mark the conclusion of Ramadan, Sheikh Jarjaa emphasized the significance of virtues such as discipline, patience, endurance, forgiveness, tolerance, and togetherness for both personal growth and the broader progress of the country.
According to Ghana News Agency, Sheikh Jarjaa reminded the congregation of the sacrifices made during Ramadan, urging them to let these virtues extend beyond the holy month to guide them in remaining disciplined, tolerant, and supportive of one another for the common good of the nation. He also prayed for divine guidance and protection over the country's leadership, encouraging the implementation of policies that would drive national development.
Sheikh Jarjaa took the opportunity to advise the youth against violence and criminal activities, stressing the importance of investing time in acquiring skills and knowledge to become responsible citizens. His message was echoed by Mr. Ali Adolf John, the Northern Regional Minister, who urged Muslim communities to focus on the education and development of their children to prepare them for future leadership roles.
Mr. John reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama's commitment to supporting the Muslim community through social intervention programs aimed at alleviating poverty and deprivation. He emphasized that true development could only be achieved through peace and stability, urging Muslims to use the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to foster peace and harmony.
Additionally, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, praised the Muslim community for their contribution to maintaining peace during the 2024 general elections. He reiterated his commitment to an inclusive educational system that ensures equal access to education for all Ghanaian children, without discrimination.
