Christian Council Of Ghana Extends Eid-Ul-Adha Greetings To Muslims

Accra: The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has extended its well wishes to the Muslim community as they celebrate Eid-ul-Adha this year.

According to Ghana News Agency, the celebration follows the annual pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca and commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah's command. The CCG highlighted that Allah's provision of a lamb to sacrifice instead of Ismail is a central aspect of this observance.

In a statement signed by Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, the General Secretary, the CCG expressed hope that the faith demonstrated by Ibrahim, which attracted Allah's blessings and providence, would be emulated by Muslims in Ghana and globally. The statement emphasized the importance of this faith in inspiring the Islamic Community to seek Allah's providential care in matters of peace, harmony, and social justice.

The CCG further encouraged all to be inspired by Ibrahim's faith to work towards fostering neighborliness, mutual respect, and unity, while striving to eliminate divisiveness and conflict. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the Council expressed hope that Allah's blessings would renew interfaith efforts to create a more peaceful and prosperous society for everyone.
