Chiefs Call for Peace in Upcoming Elections.

Accra: Ya-Na Abukari II Overlord of Dagbon, has called for peace before, during, and after the upcoming 2024 general elections: Welcoming the MoFCOM Scholars Alumni Association of Ghana (MoSAAG-former Students of China) to the Gbewa Palace in Yendi in the Northern Region, he expressed his prayer to see Ghana's enviable peace intact post-elections.According to Ghana News Agency, the group donated 1,700 exercise books to selected schools in Tamale and Yendi of the Northern Region. The donation of branded exercise books was part of the MoSAAG peace tour sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Ghana. The Ya-Na emphasized his continuous prayers and sacrifices for peaceful elections in Ghana and urged the association to keep spreading the peace message to foster unity among Ghanaians. He believed that standing together would help Ghana grow and meet its objectives.In Tamale, Naa Fuseini, Nyab Tamale Dakpema (Chief of Tamale), praised the association for their impactful return to society with knowledge gained from s tudying in China. He noted that their efforts to give back to society would inspire the younger generation.Mr. Sualah Zougrana, President of MoSAAG, while making the donation, commended the Chinese Embassy for supporting the association's community efforts. He stated that the peace tour aimed to inform Ghanaians that elections were not about personal attributes or possessions, emphasizing that regardless of who comes to power, all citizens are united as Ghanaians. "Let us not destroy the enviable peace we are enjoying," Mr. Zougrana urged.Mr. Yahaya Adam, Headmaster of Dakpema Junior High School, and Madam Hannah Aziwu, Headteacher of the Bulpela Taskif EA Primary and KG, expressed gratitude for the group's generosity. Madam Aziwu also called on the government to repair the school's classrooms and provide materials to enhance teaching and learning.
