CCSD Organises Health Screening for Gbi-Kpoeta Community

Gbi-kpoeta: The Centre for Culture and Sustainable Development (CCSD), a community-based organisation, has organised a general health screening for members of the Gbi-Kpoeta community in the Volta Region. The initiative aimed to promote awareness and address health concerns among community members.

According to Ghana News Agency, the health screening was conducted in collaboration with Live Pure Health, Accra, and covered various health conditions, including sugar levels, blood pressure, eye tests, and checks for liver, kidney, prostate, malaria, and typhoid. Togbe Adom Dake X, the President of CCSD, emphasized the organisation's commitment to promoting culture, sustainable development, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment through community-centered initiatives, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability.

Togbe Dake highlighted the importance of the screening in educating the community about their health and providing solutions to their health issues. He stressed that maintaining good health is crucial for community members to carry out their daily activities and urged them to follow the medical advice and prescriptions provided during the screening.

Dr. John Afedzi, a Nutritionist at Live Pure Health, explained that many health conditions are linked to diet and lifestyle choices, such as irregular eating habits and alcohol consumption, which can lead to diseases like hypertension and diabetes. He underscored the significance of health screenings in educating individuals about their bodies and the necessity of adhering to medical guidance.

Mama Dakesi IV, the Vice President of CCSD, emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, noting that good health also depends on keeping surroundings tidy. She urged community members to prioritize sanitation for their well-being.

Some beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the organisation for the health screening exercise, appreciating the opportunity to gain insights into their health and receive necessary medical attention.
