Catholic Priest Urges Prophets in Ghana to Follow Christian Ethics and Maturity

Sunyani: A Catholic Priest has urged prophets in Ghana to be guided by Christian ethics and exhibit a high sense of maturity, civility, and prudence in discharging and interpreting prophecies. The Reverend Father Albert Kyei Danso, the Chaplain at the Holy Family Ghanaian Catholic Community Church, Pordenone, Italy, gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani.

According to Ghana News Agency, Rev Fr Danso emphasized that when godly prophecies are abused and misinterpreted, they cause more harm than good. He advised prophets to refrain from attributing spiritual meanings to every incident and urged them to adhere to Christian morals and political ethics to help build a better society. He warned that false prophecies threaten national peace, security, and social cohesion, advocating for the clergy to focus on contributing to the nation's progressive growth and development.

Rev Fr Danso highlighted the need for prophets to be discerning in their divine callings, stating that the nation does not require a Presidential Envoy to receive prophecies for the government. He stressed that prophets are meant to serve as the mouthpiece of God, communicating divine intentions and interceding for the people. However, he cautioned that not everything revealed to prophets is intended for the nation.

He further explained that a prophet must not blindly convey prophecies as the ultimate truth, as deception can occur through sorceries, divination, and magical powers. Rev Fr Danso emphasized the role of Apostles and Bishops in discerning and verifying the authenticity of prophecies, considering the context and circumstances under which they are received.

The prophetic ministry, he stated, plays a crucial role in nation-building, and he urged the clergy not to exploit this ministry for political advantage, media attention, or personal gain.
