A five-day non-denominational massive crusade and medical outreach led by the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministries (CEM) and targeting to touch more than 30,000 lives in the Central Region is underway in Cape Coast. The crusade commenced Monday night (October 14) with a vibrant and spirit-filled session of worship, praises, prayers, healings, miracles, and salvation led by Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Senior Pastor of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in London.Dubbed: 'Cape Coast for Christ Crusade,' CEM, collaborating with the ecumenical bodies in the region, held a three-night church service at the Adisadel College Park, and attended by thousands of people from towns and villages far and near.Rev Steve Mensah, the Founding Bishop of the CEM and host of the event, Bishop Richard Ampadu Duku, Senior Pastor of the Victory Bible Church International, Cape Coast Family Cathedral, and a host of other pastors also blessed the nights with sermons and motivations.Alongside the church services, a surgical team of more than 50 doctors, in collaboration with the Cape Coast Metro Hospital, commenced a five-day surgical session for about 200 people with growth-related conditions such as goitre, hernia, and fibroid. The church also donated thousands of assorted relief items including food, clothing, mattresses, and toiletries to more than 8,000 people.Meanwhile, a team of more than 200 health professionals including dentists and optometrists would on Thursday set up a clinic at Adisadel College Park to screen, treat, and administer medications for various conditions.Friday, October 18, 2024, has however been dedicated to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) where more than 7,000 identified persons would receive medication support and relief items including assistive devices like wheelchairs.Pastor Ashimolowo in his sermon, entreated the congregation to accept and worship Jesus Christ alone, indicating that salvation was not found in foreign gods, marine spirits, or sacrifices but in Jesus, the son of God.He said Jesus died to rescue them from the firm grips of the devil and deliver them from sicknesses, curses, poverty, shame and the power of sin.'The blood of Jesus washes your sins away and makes you whole. There's power in the blood and it has brought healing to you,' he said. After 35 years of running the crusade across the country, Pastor Steve Mensah said the event was in Cape Coast to demonstrate the love and kindness of God.'We have not come to receive anything from you, but we have come to give to you and show you the love of God,' he said.Bishop Ampadu Duku, also the Chairman of the Local Planning Committee of the Crusade, was hopeful that there would be a breakthrough for the ancient city of Cape Coast after the Crusade.Source: Ghana News Agency
