Calm as 1,246 Voters Partake in Ketu South Special Voting.

Ketu South: There is calm at the two Special Voting centres at the forecourt of the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Ketu South where a total of 1,246 voters is expected to vote. As of about 11:45 hours, 325 and 331 voters, making a total of 656 people, had cast their votes at voting centres A and B, respectively, without any incidents.According to Ghana News Agency, queues began forming as early as 06:00 hours, and the first voter cast their ballot at exactly 07:00 hours. Various party agents were present, representing the New Patriotic Party, National Democratic Congress, The New Force, and Movement for Change. Observers from the Institute for Democratic Governance and the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers were also in attendance. Additionally, there was a sufficient police presence to ensure security throughout the voting process.Ms. Enyonam Ashiagbor, who will be serving as an election official for the December 7 general election, commented after casting her ballot that the process was smoot h. Mr. Kofi Sakyi Boampong, the Ketu South Municipal Electoral Officer, expressed confidence in replicating the same orderly process during the main election. He encouraged voters to turn up early on December 7 and advised those in hotspot areas not to be deterred but to exercise their voting rights.The ongoing nationwide special voting is being conducted ahead of the general election to enable eligible voters involved in election-related duties, including election officials, media practitioners, and security personnel, to cast their ballots early. This allows them sufficient time to perform their duties during the main election on Saturday, December 7.
