Bright Home Company Limited, located at Afienya, has lost assets worth GHC 7 million to a fire outbreak.Divisional Officer III, (DOIII) Ebenezer Yenzu, Tema Regional Public Relations Officer, (PRO), Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Tema Regional Command the assets included?leathers, foam mattresses, liquid chemicals, raw materials for production, as well as a structure housing the items.DOIII Yenzu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the GNFS received the first call on the fire incident at about 09:35 hours and firefighters from Gbetsile Station reached the scene at about 10:04 hours.He added that additional men from the Ashaiman station and Tema Metro also reached the fire scene at about 10:22 hours and 10:29 hours, respectively.He said the fire was brought under control at about 11:15 hours and finally extinguished at about 15:29 hours.He added that the various teams led by Assistant Chief Fire Officer II (ACFOII), Patrick Sallah, Tema Regional Fire Commander, DOII, Samuel Fiifi Oppong, Regi onal Operations Officer, and other District Commanders worked expeditiously to douse the fire.The PRO advised companies to prioritise regular fire safety checks and maintenance to prevent devastating fires, adding that they must stick to high housekeeping standards to reduce fire incidences in the Tema Region and the country at large.He said even though the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known, it was important to emphasise the need for proactive measures in preventing fires, including conducting regular fire risk assessments.Source: Ghana News Agency
