Biakoye DCE Engages Traditional Leaders to Strengthen Collaboration

Biakoye: Mr Eric Opong, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Biakoye District of the Oti Region, has initiated a series of engagements with traditional councils in the district to foster collaboration between the Assembly and traditional authorities to enhance development. The first phase of the engagement covered four traditional areas, including WoraWora and Tapa Traditional Councils.

According to Ghana News Agency, at the WoraWora Traditional Council, Nana Awerewa III, the Paramount Queenmother, highlighted pressing challenges, including inadequate access to potable water, youth unemployment leading to indiscipline, poor road networks, sanitation issues, the deteriorating Tapa Abotoase market, and the need for upgrading the Tapa Abotoase clinic.

In response, Mr Opong assured the traditional leaders that the government was committed to addressing these concerns. He outlined his vision for the district, focusing on education, health, agriculture, sanitation, and revenue mobilization.

Mr Opong also took the opportunity to commend Madam Jean Marie Formadi, the Member of Parliament, for her continued support toward the district's development agenda. He urged traditional authorities to make land available for development projects, particularly the redevelopment of the Abotoase market into a modern facility.
