Assemblies of God Youth Ministry Extends Support to Ekuase Camp Prison

Sekondi: The Youth Ministry of the Assemblies of God Church, Sekondi District 'A', has donated various items to the inmates at the Ekuase Camp Prison in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region. This initiative is part of the ministry's efforts to reach out to less privileged groups within society.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donated items included food packages, packs of bottled water, soft drinks, and Bibles, among other supplies. The presentation was made by Reverend Emmanuel Owusu-Akyaw, the Southern-Western Youth Director, who stated that the donation was in fulfillment of the biblical mandate to assist those in need.

Rev. Owusu-Akyaw referenced the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-36, emphasizing the church's responsibility to care for the hungry, the sick, and those in prison. He highlighted the importance of reaching out to individuals who are incarcerated, stressing that they are not forgotten by the church.

During the presentation, Rev. Owusu-Akyaw encouraged the inmates to maintain good behavior and to continue their spiritual growth. He assured them that upon their release, they would experience the Lord's blessings in their lives. He expressed hope that the donated items would bring joy to the inmates and reinforce the church's concern for their wellbeing.

DSP Daniel Baah, the Acting Chaplain of Ekuase Camp Prison, received the items on behalf of the inmates. He thanked the church for their generosity and highlighted the positive impact such donations have in supporting the prison's efforts to care for the inmates. DSP Baah also appealed to other individuals and organizations for similar support.

The outreach program reached 104 inmates, who were engaged through gospel teachings, prayers, songs of praise, and the distribution of Bibles, reminding them of their value to the church and the broader Christian community.
