Anloga: Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, the Member of Parliament for Anloga constituency in the Volta Region, has organised a 'thank you' service for his constituents in recognition of their strong support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the lead-up to the 2024 December 7 parliamentary elections. The service took place at the Anlo Senior High School auditorium, providing an opportunity for engagement with party supporters and discussions on the development of the area.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Sefe expressed his gratitude to NDC leaders, executives, and supporters for their unwavering support for the party, its parliamentary candidates, and President John Dramani Mahama. He emphasized the importance of acknowledging the efforts and commitment of the NDC family, especially during challenging times, and expressed gratitude for their electoral victory.
The thank you service aimed to gather advice and insights from the community on various matters, including education, infrastructure, water, electrification, job creation, and economic development, which are crucial for the progress of the constituency. Mr Sefe, who secured a second term in the December polls, highlighted the continuity of developmental projects to address the challenges faced by the people.
In his first term, Mr Sefe supported over 1,000 youth in apprenticeship programs to encourage employment among young people. He assured attendees that the NDC would continue to introduce more initiatives to benefit the youth and improve their circumstances.
Tegbi Zewu II, Awadada of Anlo State, attended the service and encouraged the MP to remain focused, listen to constituents' feedback, and avoid complacency. Mr Rolex Agbey Miheso, Anloga NDC constituency chairman, praised the constituents for their support and pledged that the NDC would prioritize the development of the Volta Region.
He also acknowledged President Mahama's nationwide thank you tour, which started in the Volta Region, and the ministerial positions the region received, reflecting the party's commitment to the area. He appealed for support from Ghanaians to help President Mahama and the party fulfill their 2024 campaign promises.
NDC supporters expressed satisfaction and joy over the thank you service, appreciating the MP's gesture and pledging continued support for the party. The event was well-attended by local chiefs, queens, assembly members, pastors, constituency executives, and party supporters.
In the 2024 December 7 elections, Mr Richard Kwame Sefe received 36,419 votes, defeating Mr Seth Kwashie Yormewu, who garnered 4,131 votes out of a total of 40,550 valid votes in the constituency.
